Well then, I might just try it out in the near future. By Lordblackcat77, Jared Petty, Mike, +2.1k more. Doesn't seem to be working at time of posting.)īut like I said, I'm really a singleplayer campaign player, so don't know how those apply to multiplayer. (You can take a look at the rosters on when it's up. The rest of the factions are also each pretty unique I've found, as there seems to have been a real effort to focus on each factions unique units and build the roster around them. I quite like Saxoni, especially as a couple of their ships actually have Guerilla Deployment so can make for a nice surprise either landing quicker than the opponent might expect, or hitting them from unexpected angles at sea. Gallic Rome on the other hand relies on a strong offense, with heavily armed infantry charging into the enemies lines and trying to win the battle quickly.Īnd Palmyra is more focused on cavalry and anti cavalry tactics, with pikes, spears and cataphracts (they remind me of a Roman take on someone like Egypt or Seleucids.) They are perhaps slightly more defensive and better suited for prolonged engagements supported by swift cavalry strikes. Many have units that don't appear anywhere else in Rome 2įor example the three Roman factions are kind of twists on the standard Roman faction, still having the recognisably Roman focus on strong infantry, but each quite different.Īurellians Rome (called Rome in game) is probably closest to regular Rome, but with the addition of a strong Cavalry component. Try besieging anything with those factions without auto resolve, ugh. Most of the Nomadic factions are pretty bad you get nothing but horses and horse archers. Was just wondering what guys thought would be the worst faction in the game.

So Britain, Egypt, Pontus, Seleucid Empire are all OP. Your opinion on worst faction for Rome 2. A stack of chariots will always win against any other stack. Any chariot faction is OP due to the way autocalc works. I don't play multiplayer and "good" is kind of difficult to define without context.īut I can say that I like the Empire Divided factions I've played. Id pick Seleucids over the Romans any day of the week. Some hosts don't allow this though and will kick you or ask you to change.īut how good are the ED factions exactly? I just want to know if it'd be worth my time. Originally posted by Tactician:Yes you can, just save presets and load them up and you can play them regardless of campaign.
